| I'M DONE!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!! No more sch ---- wait...there is more school - But I'll be teaching it!!! Yay!!!! Please pray for the paperwork from my correspondence course to go through by Friday morning so that my school can be notified and I will get my diploma (and not just walk). I took my final exam today and arranged for Fed-Ex to come pick it up. It should get to Texas State by tomorrow morning. Then I got in my car and played Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" REALLY loudly :) "For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth!" Amen!! | | |
| I don't post much at all, but I've become okay with that. :o) I love teaching, and I love my God, and I love my family, my boyfriend, and my friends. Why do I announce this? Because it makes me happy and I wants to. I also really enjoy free books and 1940's Big Band, so many thanks to the English department. Tomorrow is another deleriously wonderful day of student teaching, and I have a couple dozen quizzes to grade and analyze, so I guess it's good night :) Oh yeah - it may sound crazy, and before this semester I would have looked at anyone like they were nuts if they told me what I'm about to tell you: Teaching science to about 100 6th graders is an absolute blast!! (Sometimes I want to give one or two...or five...of them a few choice words, but the joy of teaching outweighs the downs by more than a metric ton!) | | |
| A whirlwind update!
1. I can only get onto fb or xanga about once or twice a month due to technical and other issues, so if you want to get a hold of me, calling or emailing is your best bet :) 2. I have my full scholarship back! Praise the Lord! Thanks to all who were praying for me! 3. I have finished my origins minor! And finally, in answer to Cowboy's very creative inquiry... 4. I do indeed have a boyfriend, and yes, he's the pediatrics nurse from back home :) After much prayer and consideration, we decided to take the next step, and we are now dating each other exclusively. And yes, this makes me happy ^_^ Very happy! So, that's the long and short of it for now, folks. I'm going to go study for the Praxis now... Bye bye! | | |
| Thank you for all those who were praying about my scholarship. With my minimester grade, I now have a 3.411, which is enough to keep it. Now the question is, will school give it back? Please keep praying as I talk to financial aid this week. Apparently, my semester grades lost it, but I'm hoping they will be gracious since I took my minimester here and that got it back up to what it needed to be. If not, I'll have to take out a loan, which isn't the end of the world or my life, but I'd really rather not have to do it. Thanks again y'all! God bless! ~SWF | | |
| Yes, 'tis blissfully, happily true. I finished moving my stuff in last
night with the help of a certain little bro and big sis :o)
Notice, I did not say that I am moved in, because a lot is still in
boxes and I need a "rubbermaid dresser" pretty badly right now.
But, I am in a house, and it makes me happy.
I also cooked my first meal in the house, Erisibu would be proud.
Wakame (a great sea-vegetable) and sushi rice with jasmine tea.
Followed up with home-made candied nuts and a post-rodeo special.
Tomorrow classes begin.
Oh yes....I did something VERY cool last night; I went to my very first
rodeo! I didn't think I would enjoy the bull-riding, because it seemed
like such an incredibly stupid thing for a sane person to do. I
think, however, that the bull-riding was one of my very favorite parts
:) Go figure.
Special thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Cowboy for that exciting cultural experience,
and to FireNBarbedWire & Girl on a Lawn Mower for all the fun and
help this weekend. You all are a huge blessing to me. :)
Well, it's past bedtime, so I'm going to head out. :)
God bless!
